In this memoir， Jamie Foxx touches on many topics from his past， including his childhood， his unique family structure and his rise to fame。 All of these stories are framed around his role as a father to his two daughters。 Foxx ties each part of this memoir to how his experiences and relationships have prepared him for parenthood。 This book is as much a memoir as it is a book about his successes and failures as a father。 I don't want to say it's a book that gives advice on parenting， although it In this memoir， Jamie Foxx touches on many topics from his past， including his childhood， his unique family structure and his rise to fame。 All of these stories are framed around his role as a father to his two daughters。 Foxx ties each part of this memoir to how his experiences and relationships have prepared him for parenthood。 This book is as much a memoir as it is a book about his successes and failures as a father。 I don't want to say it's a book that gives advice on parenting， although it may seem like it is at first glance。 The message is more was like "this is how I do it and it works for me" type of reflection on parenting。 As with everything that Jamie Foxx produces， he had me LAUGHING OUT LOUD。 His life story is kind of crazy and his family is a big part of why I found this book so intriguing。 He talks a lot about his grandmother， who raised him， and about the evolution of his relationships with his biological mother and father。 I am in awe of his ability to push aside his past anger and resentment and to seize any opportunity he has had to build relationships with them。 I love that Foxx is honest about his shortcomings as a father。 As much as he had every intention of being the best father he could be， his early days of fatherhood were during the most formative years of his entertainment career and he didn't always make the best choices。 I appreciated that he continues to want to strive to be better for his daughters and to learn from his mistakes。If you're looking for a quick， hilarious and entertaining nonfiction read， pick this one up！⚠️: abandonment， child abuse， substance abuse， addiction， incarcerated loved oneThank you to Grand Central Publishing for a gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

This is a pretty short read。 You can probably get through it in a day。 I really enjoyed it！ Learning a bit more about Jamie Foxx is interesting and hysterical。 His take on professional life and， his love for his family is beautiful and honest。 This guy is so funny。 I cannot imagine living in a house with him。 A book that will brighten your day ya know。 Inspire you， make you giggle。 One of those。 I really liked it。 I think any fan will throughly enjoy reading this。

I got this book free as a Goodreads giveaway。 This is a good read！ If you like Jamie Foxx you will love it。 If you don’t like him then you will after reading the book！ There are a lot of laughs and a few tears。 It is an honest look at the hardest job on the planet。 He is honest about his failures and successes。 I wish all men would work this hard on parenting their daughters！ I enjoyed this book！

I was able to read the book in a day， it was a easy and interesting read。 Some stories I wanted to know more。 But it’s known that the author is a good story teller。 Learning more about his grandmother whom he has spoken fondly about even when he spoke of her firmness。 His grandmother standing up in church declaring what she did was a standout moment in the book。 How it stuck with him stood out as well。 His disappointment in how his parents wasn’t able to be there for him was apparent， Life as a I was able to read the book in a day， it was a easy and interesting read。 Some stories I wanted to know more。 But it’s known that the author is a good story teller。 Learning more about his grandmother whom he has spoken fondly about even when he spoke of her firmness。 His grandmother standing up in church declaring what she did was a standout moment in the book。 How it stuck with him stood out as well。 His disappointment in how his parents wasn’t able to be there for him was apparent， Life as a parent in what clearly is different approach just based on his daughters age difference and his southern upbringing。 There were a couple of emotional moments that made the stories and author seem relatable， 。。。more
